New fonts in Windows Vista

You can download the new fonts for free now from Microsoft (along with Office file format converters) to use them on WinXP:

• Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack
  for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 file formats

The Compatibility Pack installer .exe will install the new fonts into your WinXP along with convertors to/from the new XML document formats.
Alternatively you can download and install the Powerpoint Viewer 2007

Besides Segoe as font for the User Interface (de successor of Tahoma) Windows Vista comes with a couple of new fonts, especcially designed for screen readability: Calibri, Cambria, Candara, Consolas, Constantia en
Corbel. Whoever came up with this names, I don’t know but bad tongs suggest it were the guys from Toyota…: Camry, Corrolla, Cressida, Celica, Corona, Crown, Carina… (source: poynter.org). They start with a C because they are Cleartype’s.. got it?

Wie deze namen heeft verzonnen weet ik niet, als word gesuggereerd dat het de jongens van Toyota zijn: Camry, Corrolla, Cressida, Celica, Corona, Crown, Carina… (bron: poynter.org). Let er op dat je alternatieve lettertypes opneemt in je stylesheet voordat je de nieuwe fonts gebrukt op je website, bijvoorbeeld:

But: how do you get them legally as humble Windows XP user or macintosh user? Legally?
Maar… hoe krijg je als eenvoudige Windows XP of Mac gebruiker deze fonts te pakken? Op een legale manier??
